Christiane Kubrick interview in the Guardian - very interesting
I was quite saddened by some of this stuff regarding Kubrick's family. On the positive side there are some revelations about Kubrick being exposed to Nazi propaganda techniques via Christiane's uncle, who produced films for the regime only to have them re-edit into propaganda afterwards.

I can't remember who sent me this link, but whoever it was ... thanks.

I read the article, and I don't have anything mean to say about scientology, but the fact that Vivian isn't speaking to them anymore is a problem, especially considering that they still want to speak with her. She's shutting them off, which is a sign that something is immensely wrong. Communication is an important thing.

As for the rest of the article, my favorite excerpt was this part: "All Stanley's life he said, 'Never, ever go near power. Don't become friends with anyone who has real power. It's dangerous."

I consider that a good enough reason to consider his themes about power that extend throughout just about every one of his films. I'm going to use that quote whenever necessary now. Good article.

Wow, reading that article reinforced how much effort Christine Kubrick has put in keeping her husbands legacy. I remember a documentary about kubricks family on the special features of eyes wide shut it was very moving.

It's very sad to this day of peoples belief that Kubrick was emotionless or cold is a barbaric assumption, articles like this show a devoted family man who was pessimistic of the current political, business and corporate system.

I don't think you can quote someone if the quote came through a second party. Unless there is a real quote of Kubrick saying "blah blah blah Power" then its not a quote. Just kind of wondering more then stating. It would be an awesome quote. His not mine Tongue

On a similar note (and possible repost): I just found this interesting interview with Stanleys daughter Vivian

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VSnHhZ-zO3A

Its an interview by Alex Jones and while people might have issues him, I find the interview well worth a watch.

We are always asking, if Stanley was so dangerous to the elites of this world, why did no one take him out? Kill him and get him out of the way. It seems all those who wished Stanley dead got their revenge with Vivian's conversion to Scientology. Why kill a man when you can make his offspring suffer?! It's a sad tale.

I almost watched Transformers once....but I'm alright now!

The complete interview (25 mn)

It's weird to hear her talk about mind control. Is she still a Scientologist ?
