STANLEY KUBRICK DECODED - VOLUME TWO

PRICE: £5.00

(one DVD - total running time: Approx 1hr 40mins)

This DVD contains video documentaries analysing two classic Kubrick films:

2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY
THE MEANING OF THE MONOLITH REVEALED
UPDATED AND EXTENDED VERSION

The first version of this video was less than 15 mins long and was posted in 2007. Although the original has reached hundreds of thousands of viewings on Youtube, much more information has since come to light about the monolith as cinema screen metaphor. This extended version features an additional 35 mins of information, including:

  • New monolith / screen and fractal narrative symbols found in the film
  • How Kubrick used his influence over Arthur C Clarke to encode additional hidden narrative messages in the novel
  • Detailed comparisons of measurements between the monolith of the film, book and various aspect ratios of the film's release
  • Additional metaphors found in the Stanley Kubrick archives book and international marketing materials

This full 50 min version is not available on Youtube and much of the information is not included in my 2001 analysis article.

FULL METAL JACKET
THE HIDDEN HAND

This 55 min video reveals a bombardment of subliminally encoded themes in Kubrick's Vietnam war classic. Military brainwashing, the fusion of violent and sexual impulses, self-erradication of feminine and innocent traits, the self as the enemy depicted as Carl Jung's the shadow, fantasy war versus reality based war and psychological hellscapes are all features encoded by Stanley in one of his most overlooked films.

This video is not available for free viewing on Youtube.

These two documentary videos breakdown the subliminal depths and visually encoded language of Kubrick's work in a way that no film reviewer has ever done before. Excellent viewing for serious film buffs, script writers and film students.

The disc is boxed with a colour artwork sleeve.
Video quality is derived straight from the editing source.
Discs are chaptered and include menus.
Region free NTSC format will play on European and North American DVD players.

STANLEY KUBRICK DECODED - VOLUME ONE

PRICE: £5.00

(one DVD - total running time: Approx 1hr 30mins)

This DVD contains video documentaries analysing three classic Kubrick films:

THE SHINING
EYES WIDE SHUT *
A CLOCKWORK ORANGE *

Note: The content tagged with an asterix can only be watched on this DVD set and are not available for free viewing on Youtube.

Dream logic, subliminal repetition, double-speak dialogue, colour coding, character switching, painted mirrors, historical references, intentional continuity errors ... these are just some of the methods Kubrick used to add layer upon layer of complex meaning to each of his masterpieces. He is the unrivalled master of cinematic communication.

These three documentary styled videos breakdown the subliminal depths and visually encoded language of Kubrick's work in a way that no film reviewer has ever done before. Excellent viewing for serious film buffs, script writers and film students.

The disc is boxed with a colour artwork sleeve.
Video quality is derived straight from the editing source.

COLLATIVE LEARNING SYSTEMS - PDF BOOK (2006)

Length: 184 pages

Includes 2011 introduction update

PRICE: £5.00

Collative Learning Systems is written specifically to be read by people with no academic background in psychotherapy who wish to quickly gain a condensed knowledge of how to be their own therapist and problem solver. However, this should not deter the academic reader. There is plenty of material on offer here that the academic will already be familiar with, but in this instance those theories and methods are presented using descriptions and metaphors that will differ considerably to the way academics have been taught.

This book is the culmination of over a decade of extensive research and experimentation by the author. It is packed with symbolic sketches, anecdotes from the author's personal and professional life, and practical mental exercizes that can be used for everything from identifying your unconscious goals to constructing plans of action to breaking unwanted habits.

For more details about the book and a list of chapter contents click here.

The book is broken up into a series of PDF files and will be posted to you on a plain data cd.

The raw basics of film making are explained in detail along with a barrage of useful tips and tricks that will save you a great deal of time and money on your film projects.

MUCH OF THIS MATERIAL YOU WILL NOT FIND ON FILM MAKING COURSES OR IN OTHER FILM MAKING BOOKS.

These methods have been learned through trial and error by the author during real film shoots, including the author's recently completed feature TURN IN YOUR GRAVE (budget £4000). See the SHORT FILMS section of this site for more examples of films produced by the author. It works.

Included in this order are:

  • A 48 page book packed with detailed step by step info on everything from script writing to cinematography to editing – everything you need to know to put your first production into motion.
  • For economy and recuced postage the book comes on a cdr in pdf format.
  • A two DVD set containing 90 mins worth of films written, produced and directed by the author on a total budget of under £5,000 (including purchase of professional camcorder and hi-spec pc for editing).

Unlike at many film schools, you will learn how to:

  • Construct psychological profiles of your characters that will give them depth and realism.
  • Identify and sequence major key story elements into a workable script.
  • Persuade potential cast and crew members to volunteer for your shoot.
  • Fabricate awkward to find locations by combining camera tricks with partial sets.
  • Light your sets effectively at a minimal cost.
  • Anticipate costly technical obstacles and adjust your production plan accordingly.
  • Choose the right balance between cost and quality in your shooting equipment.
Plan your cinematography to compliment your script.
  • Anticipate and counter-act personality clashes and disruptive behaviour on set.
  • Give your crew the right type of motivation and understanding to see the project through smoothly.
  • Organise your footage in a way that makes the editing process fast and effective.

These discs are region free, feature chapters and menus, and are boxed with a colour artwork sleeve.
For ensured compatability with DVD players NTSC format discs will be posted
to North American purchasers and PAL format discs will be posted to all other locations.

I have personally been using the methods in this book for several years and have successfully completed several film projects to a very high standard. The finished films cost one tenth of what their production value suggest. Watch the accompanying discs for proof.

Why spend thousands on training courses that teach you the expensive ways to film, when you can learn the cost effective approach here for a fraction of the price? It’s a lot easier than you think !!!
