25th April 2008 - Update re: forthcoming analysis of Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket. The good news is that FMJ is turning out to be as multi-faceted and deeply symbolic as Kubrick's other films - which of course will make for a very satisfying article and video !!! The bad news is that this means there will a slightly longer delay in getting it written and posted. I'm hoping to have it posted within a week.

11th April 2008 - New film analysis of THE BIG LEBOWSKI. This is not the finished article, but being that I promised lots of people new material for this week it's here anyway. Finished version will be online after the weekend.

Having recieved many long and fascinating emails in response to material on this site, I hearby invite you to submit articles, videos or any other material for inclusion. Your material will of course be credited to yourself or anonymously if you so wish. There is no limitation on subject matter as all submissions will be considered for thematic relevance.

18th Feb 2008 - EXPANDED FILM ANALYSIS OF 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY - "KUBRICK: AND BEYOND THE CINEMA FRAME". Apologies for the long delay in getting new material on the site. This expanded review of 2001 is far more in depth and complex than any film review I've posted before so it has taken a lot of time to write. The review is 90% written though I've only posted the first four chapters of it for the moment. The rest will be appearing over the next few days along with supporting photos etc.

25th Dec 2007 - NEW FILM ANALYSIS - THE BIRDS "HENPECKING WITH HITCHCOCK" - a video version of this review will be available in the new year - Merry Xmas everyone.
23rd Dec 2007 - KUBRICK ANALYSIS VIDEOS REJECTED BY YOUTUBE (AGAIN !!!). Having quoted the relevant "fair use" policies at the start of all my film analysis videos - a clear disclaimer that the videos are not copyright infringement - my reviews of A Clockwork Orange and Eyes Wide Shut have again been removed by youtube, this time for "inappropriate content". When my review of The Exorcist was on youtube it was allowed to receive over 90,000 viewings with fierce debates in the comment sections, even though it contained far more explicit imagery than either the CO or EWS reviews.

1st Nov 2007 - LEGAL RESOLUTION to video reviews using dvd source footage. According to the "fair use" provisions outlined in Title 17, Chapter 1, Article 7 of the US Copyright Law reproduction for purposes of criticism, comment or non-profit education purposes is not a copyright infringement. Video reviews can now be reposted on youtube.

7th Oct 2007 - YOUTUBE - 20TH CENTURY FOX COMPLAINT. My youtube account was recently suspended due to 20th Century Fox reporting a complaint of copyright infringement of their film Alien, which I had posted a video review of. The fact that the review was promoting the film and its artistic merits (at no cost to 20th Century Fox) seems to have bypassed their marketing senses. Nevertheless, I am reposting many of my films and video clips under username robag88.
